Strength and Conditioning for the Lower Limb

In the high performance & recreational athletes it is important to find the most efficacious processes to minimise injury and to rehabilitate injuries. This workshop will delve into the principles of what a strength & conditioning coach does as outlined by the Australian Strength & Conditioning Association (ASCA). 

There will be discussion on athlete rehabilitation leading to return to play protocol development and what part can the sports orientated podiatrist do to contribute to that process. Understanding the process of long-term athlete development, the role of athletic performance and sports biomechanics is critical to the value and role of a podiatrist in a sporting team will be addressed.  

All participants of the workshop will finish the workshop as ASCA Level 0 Strength & Conditioning coach certification that is nationally recognised.
